How To Install & Use Antivirus on Mobile? Welcome to the Kya Kaise channel We will learn about Anti-virus today What's the need of Anti-Virus on a mobile. How can you install it & use it . Hello. My name is Aekta What is the need for an Anti-Virus on the Mobile ? Why is it required ? Mobile phones are an integral part of our lives nowadays.
Everything is done on the mobile now. We click many links on the mobile, receive emails, audio & video messages , photos , read articles & books and play online games. But are we safe & protected ? Many people send us messages. Some are friends & known to us.
However some strangers also send us messages. Every attachment or link may not be safe. Some people want to put viruses in our mobile to cause harm to us. Viruses, malware , spyware can be used to spy on us and can download unwanted softwares or scripts on our phones.
They can also access our confidential information and can steal our financial information & transmit it & give it to someone else. They can also cause the operating system of our mobile to crash. There are malwares that can go to our address book and send a link or an attachment to our contacts in our name. There are also malwares which can reduce the processing speed significantly.
Or can take control of the camera and start clicking random photos. You can protect yourself from all of this through an anti-virus. Let's see how to install & use an anti-virus on a mobile phone. I will cover 2 mobile apps here.
The first one is Avast. This is a very popular app which has a free and a paid version. I will only cover the features of the free version here. Click on Play Store to open it .
Type Avast in the search bar. Click & Install the Avast app. Click on Accept & the app is being downloaded & installed. Click on Open.
Click on the Continue button at the bottom. It is telling us that App Shield protects us from malicious apps. Web Shield warns you about infected websites or websites that have malware. Message Shield scans incoming SMSes.
Click on Continue. Click on Run Scan. It will scan all our installed apps for trojans, malware & threats. The scan is complete & no problems were detected.
There is no virus in our mobile at this time. Click on I'm Done to proceed. It is notifying us of 2 problems . Click on Resolve I have enabled USB debugging on my phone.
It is warning me that this could pose a security threat. Since i have enabled this myself , I will leave it as such. Let's go back to the log. App Shield has scanned 71 apps At the bottom is Message Shield.
In the future any SMSes that you receive will be scanned by Message Shield. You can also block unknown messages here. At times we receive messages from unknown people that contain viruses. Check the button to enable this.
Any SMS from an unknown number will now be blocked. Let's go back to the previous menu. We have installed Avast Anti-virus on our mobile. The 2nd app that i will cover is CM Security Antivirus Applock.
Click on Play Store to open it. Type CM Security Antivirus Applock in the Search bar Click on the Install button. Click on Accept. The app is being downloaded & installed.
The app has been installed. Click on Open to open the app. Click on the Scan button to scan the mobile. It is scanning the entire system & the apps on our mobile.
It also scans the system for junk. What does junk mean? Usually we have many old, deleted files on our mobiles.This helps to clean them up as well. There is over 500MB of junk on my mobile. Click on the button Click on the Clean 547MB button.
The app has removed the 547 MB of junk from my mobile. This was as far as junk was concerned. However this is an anti-virus app. 272 Apps have been scanned and it has found 0 viruses .
However it is highlighting some privacy issues here. Let's click on Resolve All to make our mobile phone safe, Our mobile phone is now safe and there are no threats remaining. So we have now used the CM Antivirus Applock app on our phone & made it completely safe. This was as far as Anti-virus was concerned.
Click on Not Now. This app has some very useful features. Click on Applock All your installed apps are displayed here. You can lock one or more apps here.
Why is this required? Our mobile may be used by other family members or other people. We may have some private information that we may not want to share with other people. You can password-protect your apps so that no one else can access your information. By default it has selected some apps.
Let us select some more apps as well. Let's select Skype, Gmail & Google Drive in addition to the selected apps. Click on the protect button to protect the 9 selected apps. It is asking us to select a pattern.
I am not good at remembering patterns so I will click on Change to PinCode at the bottom. Choose a Pincode for the apps here. Click on Next Re-enter the Pin Code. The 9 selected apps have now been locked.
Click on Done These are the apps that have been locked. You can see a blue lock icon next to the apps. The apps that are not protected have a grey lock icon next to them. Let's open an app and try accessing it .
Let's try to open WhatsApp Enter the password. The app has been unlocked successfully. Now we can enter our WhatsApp This was as far as Applock was concerned. I want to show another very useful feature available in this app.
This feature is Intruder Selfie Lock. If an intruder tries to access your phone and open your apps and enters the incorrect password In such a situation this app will click a photo and send it to you via email. Click on Applock Enter the PinCode Click on Intruder Selfie at the top. If someone enters a wrong password their photo will be taken & sent to you.
Click on Settings & a menu will open. Check the box next to Phone Intruder Selfie. Click on Enable Click on the Activate button. Phone Intruder Selfie has now been enabled Click on Incorrect Code Entries It is asking us after how many incorrect code entries should a selfie be clicked and sent to us.
At many times we ourselves type an incorrect password. Due to this 3 Times seems an appropriate choice. Since I am showing you an example here I will select once here. Click on Email the Selfies so that it will auto-send the selfie.
It has by default picked up the email address from your Google account & the selfie will be sent there. You can click here to change the email address as per your preference. Click on Gmail. Let's enter an incorrect password.
Let's see whether it clicks a selfie or not. Let's go to the Gmail Inbox I have received an email from CM Security. The email subject says that someone tried to snoop on your Google+. Let's open the email.
The app has clicked a photo and sent it to us. This is a teddy bear that I had put in front of the phone. If it was a person trying to snoop on your phone their photo would have been clicked and sent to you. This app has informed you via an email that on 20th June at 21:30 hours this photo of an intruder was taken.
This is a very useful feature. While this is an anti-virus app but has additional useful features as well. These are a few of our other popular videos. Click on the screen to learn something new today.
